Helping Hands Mission Statement

St. Joseph's Helping Hands was chosen as another name for the Altar Society.  It is a church support group of dedicated Catholic women who provide for the Liturgical needs of the altar, beautify the worship area, provide for church and outreach activities, grow in prayer and common service and support the ladies of the parish.

Our Purpose

There are several committees or circles that work together in order to enhance an atmosphere worthy of our Mission. Active circles under the Helping Hands umbrella include the Church Decorating Committee, Environmental Committee, Funeral Committee, Prayer Circle, Quilt Circle, Rosary Circle and Welcoming Committee. Volunteers are always welcomed.

Helping Hands Provides

  • Liturgical needs such as Priest/Deacon Vestments, Vessels, Altar Linens, Candlesticks, Pyxes, Purificators and Children's Mass Books
  • Funeral Dinners, Confirmation Dinners and Healing Mass Dinners
  • Prayers for those on the Prayer Chain
  • Birthday Cards, Get Well Cards and Sympathy Cards for members and those in need
  • Seasonal Cards / Treats and Visitation for nursing home residents
  • Fundraising- 2 Quilt Raffles, Fall and Spring
  • Communion to the Sick & Homebound when needed
  • Decorating the Church 
  • Monthly Mass Intentions for the Women of the Parish
  • Monthly Rolls & Coffee after early Mass
  • Rosary- before Church, at Funerals and weekly Paradisus Dei during Lent and Advent
  • Seminarians Gift Boxes, Gift Cards and Lunches
  • Community Fundraisers and Donations
  • Visiting the Sick and Providing Meals
  • Welcome Bag and Recognition of New Members into the Church Community
  • Welcome New Baby with Gift and Meal for the Family
  • Members of Helping Hands are also active in other ministries such as Eucharistic ministers, Leadership, Lectors, Musicians, OCIA, Pastoral and Finance Council, PSR, Sacristan, Vocations and other various committees

We wish to promote friendship and fellowship by inviting any woman over the age of 18 who is a member of St. Joesph's Church to become an active member! Meetings

Monthly meetings (excluding June, July and August) are held every first Tuesday at 6:30 pm in St. Joseph’s Parish Hall.
